Bible Reading Plans

Reading the Bible is a simple thing to do. Yet, it brings us into the very mind of God. Reading the Bible, like praying, is the least we can do to begin to know and understand what our Lord and Savior wants to teach us.

You may use these reading guides for your private needs or as part of a group. However you use them, be certain to pray for understanding before reading, maintain a prayerful attitude while reading and conclude with a specific prayer to help you apply anything you may have learned while reading. At times there are long lists of names from which one might feel that nothing is to be learned. However, life-long Bible readers and students have discovered that even in such ordinary information our God has something to teach us.

Here are a three Bible reading plans we highly recommend. More will be added very soon so please come back and check out the list often.

  • The 90 Day Power Plan – you will read the entire Bible in 90 Days. It takes about half an hour a day to do this. Some people use this once to get an idea of what is in the Scriptures and then go to another reading plan that stretches it out over a year or more to study as reading. Others use this plan to continually to power read the whole Bible over and over again. Click here to download The 90 Day Power Plan
  • The Chronological Plan – you will read the entire Bible in a year using this creative plan. Looking at its list one sees quickly that Genesis is interrupted by Job. Essentially you will be introduced to each set of readings in an order of historical occurrence or writing. This is a great plan to guide study or for careful pleasure reading. The list is designed for beginning the read on January 1, but you can begin at any time. Either start on 1/1 as your first day of reading and follow through day-by-day or find the actual calendar date and begin there. You will end the year and the list then start back at the beginning to fill in the gap. Click here to download The Chronological Plan.
  • Read Through the Bible On Your Own – using this plan, you can read at your own pace, start at any point in the Bible and continue as you find helpful. Just use the list to check off each chapter as you read to keep track of your progress. Click here to download the Read Through the Bible On Your Own plan.
